How These Posts Are Written

Just to make this clear.

Most posts on this blog are not written by me word by word.

More precisely, they are written by me and Codex together.

I provide the thinking. Usually in short sentences. Not always connected. Sometimes just a few judgments, a few keywords, or a technical instinct that I have not fully worked out yet.

Codex turns those fragments into a complete post.

It adds structure, smooths out sentences, and connects the context. Sometimes it also points out where the logic is still unclear, where an example is needed, or where the post should stop.

So my writing workflow has slowly moved into the Codex app.

The most obvious benefit is speed.

Writing posts is much faster now.

Before this, a lot of my energy went into sentences. How to start. How to transition. How to make a paragraph feel less scattered. Those things matter, but they are expensive.

Now I can dump what is in my head first. It can be rough. As long as the judgment is mine, the material is mine, and the direction is mine, Codex can help shape it into something readable.

That means I no longer have to spend most of my energy on making sentences flow.

But the problem is also obvious.

Some sentences have too much AI smell.

This is especially true when a post needs to explain an abstract concept. Codex can easily produce paragraphs that are too complete, too smooth, too correct. They are not wrong. They just do not sound like me.

I have tried a bunch of open source humanize skills to reduce these AI patterns. Remove the overly neat three-part structure. Cut empty transitions. Avoid the "not only A, but also B" sentence shape.

So far, it is still not good enough.

Not useless. They can remove some of the obvious AI traces.

But the hard part is keeping my own voice.

My writing is not meant to be literary. Most of the time it is engineering notes. I am judging whether a system, a piece of code, or a workflow is worth doing. The sentences can be short. They can jump a little. The point needs to be precise.

That part cannot be solved by a simple humanize pass.

So the style will change slowly.

Hopefully it gets better.

At least the workflow works now.
